World Surfboard Championships, Manly Beach
Spectators pictured in a Ford Zephyr ute on the final day of the World Surfboard Championships at Manly Beach in Sydney's north on 17 May 1964. A crowd of 60,000 gathered on Manly Beach to watch Phyllis O'Donnell and Midget Farrelly become the first world surfing champions.
